Chase football coaching programme

Harnessing the power of football to help individuals develop transferable skills that can unlock their potential and support their careers, on and off the pitch.

Building transferable skills for life

Not everyone has the same opportunities when it comes to developing life skills that can help secure a job, or support career growth. As proud Official Banking Partner of the Home Nations Football Teams, we're helping to change that.

Launched in 2024, the Chase football coaching programme improves access to football coaching qualifications for individuals where cost is a barrier.

Building transferable skills for life

The story so far

In the first year of the programme, over 2,100 aspiring coaches across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales completed a Chase funded coaching course, with over 2,400 qualifications being fully funded in 2025.

The goals of our programme

Develop transferable skills

Since launching, we’ve funded over 5,000 places on grassroot coaching courses to help people kickstart a career in coaching and develop transferable skills for life.

Support career pathways

We've also funded over 400 professional coaching qualifications across UEFA C, UEFA B and UEFA A to help football coaches further their careers – taking them from grassroots to coaching greatness.

Provide training for everyone

Soon, we'll be offering free online training packs for anyone to access, so more people have the tools they need to grow key transferable skills like empathy, critical thinking, self-awareness and self-reflection.

Breaking down coaching barriers

49% of adults in the lowest socio-economic groups have received no skills training since they left school. This can be because development resources aren't always available to people who need them the most.

Football is one of the UK's most-loved sports, so we're using its power to tackle this issue by funding professional coaching qualifications.
