Legal and regulatory obligations

Legal and regulatory obligations, as well as company policy, impact our ability to support payments or other financial services involving certain countries, regions, governments, individuals and entities. This includes restrictions that we apply to the following locations:

  • Cuba
  • North Korea (DPRK)
  • Iran
  • Syria
  • Crimea
  • So-called Luhansk People’s Republic
  • So-called Donetsk People’s Republic

You cannot send or receive money from these locations. You'll also be unable to use Chase services when physically present in these locations. This means that your app and card won't work and our support team will be unable to offer you help. Chase is also unable to support customers who are tax resident in any of these locations.

When you make or receive a new payment we may sometimes hold it and request additional information from you. We won't be able to finalise any payments that we reasonably believe would be contrary to our legal or regulatory requirements, as well as company policy.
